Another Baby Shower

Isn't this picture adorable?
(Yes Chrisha, I stole this from your facebook. LOL)

We went to a shower for Chrisha and baby H today. They decided to not find out the sex of the baby until he or she decides to come visit the world.....this drives me crazy! I do not have the patience. But, Chrisha does. One of the many great qualities about her.

Her shower was so good! Her sister made a slide show and, of course, Chrisha was balling. She and her family are some of the sweetest people I have ever known. And, she got so many goodies!!!

After, we went over to my parents to visit Avery, Jenna, Jason, and my parents. Avery is getting so big! She can hold her head up and started talking some (by talking I mean making sounds). Just too much fun!!

I'm off to take care of my sick husband who has called me several times today asking when I was getting home.............poor baby.

Quiet Time

Tonight has been very quiet in the Petty house.

Dave is fighting some type of nasty flu/cold/strep throat thing. Can you tell I'm in no way a nurse or doctor?! HA! Good thing my friend across the street is! He has been in bed since he got home from work and I........................

...............spent the night reading. I literally bought this book last night and have not put it down. I only have four chapters left. I'm trying, really hard, not to finish it tonight. It's SO good. Good thing it's a series and there are two more after this one. Woohoo!

Tomorrow I have a shower for a friend I have known since 3rd grade. I'm so excited to see her! Baby showers are much more fun the older I get.

I had to post this, it's just that cute.

Avery Update and other little snip-ets.

I'm in a blog rut. I'll be honest.

We don't live really exciting lives or anything so, sometimes, I just have nothing to blog about! HA!

*********************************************

I've been asked this question alot lately.............

"What is it that you're really passionate about?"

This question is related to my lack of motivation or willingness to come up with some sort of plan for a career move, since obviously I haven't had much luck in the job department. And, is it sad that I have not one answer?

I haven't ever really been one of those people who always knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. When I was younger I wanted to be a news anchor or journalist. I took several courses in college that I really enjoyed. I thought I wanted to teach, and to be honest, that is still a possibility. I have so much experience working with high school aged kids and I see how much positivity an adult can have over kids in that age group. I'm great with people and do really well in the restaurant industry, but I KNOW that is NOT what I want to do everyday. Maybe in a role that isn't straight operations would be good.

I've even contemplated that maybe it's time to start consider having children, although that scares the poop out of me, so I don't know. Kids are such a blessing and if it were up to my husband, I'd be bare foot and pregnant already! HA!

Just a good time for some reflection and answers I guess. Anyone that may have suggestions is welcome to leave a comment. Maybe I'll find my calling!

In other news, guess who turned two months old?

How cute is this little girl? Her onesie was made by an awesome friend named Kristen. She made Jenna 12 onesies!! So flippin adorable!!!! She has blog now, so shout out to Kristen!!! Time for an update!

I'll link her up sometime soon so you can check out all her awesomeness and see everything she has made. She truly is talented.

Weekly Scorecard

This week has been FULL of ups and downs.

Pro: I had a really great conversation with a friend who has been going through an extremely hard point in her life right now and, hallelujah!! She has finally begin to see the light! Such a blessing.

Con: It kept me out a little later than I wanted and now, I'm tired.

Pro: I was able to keep a positive attitude at work all week. And, kept smiling. This was a HUGE accomplishment.

Con: I received the news I didn't get either of the positions I had interviewed for. BIG con.

Pro: I was reminded this week how important it is to surround yourself with family and people who care about you.

Con: There isn't a con to this one. I so appreciate my husband, parents, and sisters for being so supportive and concerned.

Pro: I got my hair done today.

Con: no con for this one either. I LOVE getting my hair done.

So.......I'd have to say even though there were some disappointments for me this week, it wasn't all that bad. I'm reminded that it's not the end of the world when things don't work out the way we'd like. So I didn't get chosen for a job, big deal. I still have one. And, I'm lucky. Even if it's not the job I necessarily want, Dave and I are fortunate to pay our bills and have some fun.

I'm actually alot more positive than I was two days ago. It's amazing what a little time and TLC can do for ya!

Sunday Wrap Up

I've had a bit of a strange weekend.

I was off Friday but spent my day running around trying to take care of the whole HOA situation we have going on. Ugh. HOA's are the devil. Luckily, I have a friend who has the inside to it all. But, doesn't make it any more fun to deal with.

Saturday I worked. Yesterday was the first day EVER I actually left without having volunteered to stay and help the store. And, I actually felt guilty for it. What's wrong with me? I'm trying to work on being able to say "No" versus always saying "Yes". I have a problem being guilt-ed in to always being the problem solver. And, this is something I am working on in my personal life too. I've learned you have to look out for number one (being me) because no one else does it. Sounds selfish right? It's a constant battle and balance.

Today, I have been to the gym, the store, made breakfast, did some laundry, you know the drill. I'm actually interested in the Golden Globes tonight! I'm intrigued to see who the big winners will be. I'm really wanting to see if Natalie Portman takes the cake for Black Swan. Have you seen it? I wasn't a big fan but I'm glad I saw it.

This week I will be working a lot, and hopefully hear some good news mid week. It'd be such a relief!

Hope your weekend has been good! Here's to another week!

Catch Up

Not to much has been going on with us this week. I've been working, Dave's been working. And, that's. about. it. Are we exciting or what?!

I had a very exciting day today though! I'm not at will to discuss it yet but I love when I begin to see some direction in my life :) Let's hope it works out.

I had the STRANGEST craving today. We had nothing to eat in the house so I stopped by the store after the gym. I, for some reason, decided I wanted some sushi. Totally weird but it hit the spot. And, Dave opted to make tuna. This whole "healthy" thing he has going on is putting me out of whack!

I rented The Town tonight and can I just say, I LOVE Ben Affleck. I have always liked him but after this movie and He's Just Not That Into You, I've fallen for him. Don't worry, Dave is well aware of this and not jealous at all. HA!

Now, don't you just feel better having read all about our exciting lives over this past week? I know, I can barely contain myself either. :)

Saturday Six

{one} Yes. I made up Saturday Six. Mainly, because I couldn't think of anything else to name this post. HA!

{two} We had an uneventful Friday. Dave picked up hamburgers from our favorite burger joint in town and of course, they were delicious. That has become one of our favorite Friday rituals.

{three} I'm loving the Sex and the City marathons they are having on E! Even though I have seen every episode over and over again, I still quite enjoy all the quirkiness on that series.

{four} I saw Country Strong tonight. Not at all what I expected, but good. LOVE the music in the movie though. I will probably be buying the soundtrack.

{five} Dave is going on his fourth week of working out. I'm so proud of him! He is getting a little frustrated about not loosing weight as quick as he'd like but he's staying motivated.

{six} I'm waiting to see how much "snow" we get tomorrow. It's funny how out of no where we get snow here but I guess that's all apart of the whole "global warming" thing (which I do believe is occurring, the weather here is just so strange sometimes!).

I plan on doing some cleaning tomorrow, watching several movies, and staying off the roads! I made a trip to the store today to prepare for not leaving the house at all tomorrow!

Happy Saturday y'all!

Guess what today is?!

Today is my mom's birthday!

Happy Birthday Mom!

So, much has happened this year! A wedding, a new grand baby, another year of retirement (well, sort of). HA! Hope the next year is just as good to you!

New Year's Eve

We had a very low key New Year's Eve.

My sister/brother-in-law and niece and nephew came to hang out, along with Dave's other brother Corey. It was a nice night spent at home!

We played football............(yes, in the house. You get to do that at our house).
Played Guess Who.
Watched tv.
Did a puzzle.
Played with Aunt Leslie and Stoney.

And, finally pooped out after the ball dropped.

We are crazy party animals.

In all seriousness though, I had a good time ringing in the new year with family and watching BRAVO's New Year celebrations. Did anyone watch it? I think you have to watch Real Housewives in order to have appreciated it.

I've had a great few days off and still have two more! We are thinking of going to the movies and throw in a little shopping. This being off stuff is pretty good!
