Colbi and Mommy's Day of FUN!

We had a big day around here, which ended with a good run for me!

This email made me laugh. Evidently, I set a record for myself. I've had to mix up some workouts lately because I've been getting kind of bored and unmotivated. I really wish I could work out in the mornings like I used too, but I just don't see how that's going to happen unless I buckle down and get a gym membership. It's getting too hot outside and although I know Colbi likes it, running with a stroller just isn't the same. Boo.

We ventured out to Hawaiian Falls today with our neighbors and had a really nice time. I think that's our first official play date now that I think about it! Thanks again Whitney and Heather. It was fun!

{This was Colbi after we got home. She was ttiiiirrrreeedddddd.}

She was asleep about 30 seconds after I put her in her seat. And no, I wasn't driving when I took this. Isn't she adorable?!

I'm just so grateful I have the flexibility at the moment to do things like this with Colbi. She's only going to be little once and I want to soak up every second. I guess you can say I'm a little obsessed with her. I'm okay with that because the day will come when she won't want to hang out with me. She is so sweet and loving at the moment. I often think about Jim and Pam in the Office when they were getting married and taking "mental" pictures because they forgot the cameras. Ha! I want to remember it all.

I will say, Colbi did get a good nap on the way home and slept for about 2 hours after but we were happy to see Daddy when he walked in. I needed a break! Having fun can be a lot of work! :)

Colbi's day of fun!

We all went over to my parent's house today for a little swimming action. And luckily, Colbi just happened to get a new swim suit and cover up from her Aunt Angie! Thank you Angie!

My mom said Colbi was the only baby she knew who would wear a bow with her swim suit. :)

Colbi got to play in her own little pool too thanks to her Gigi! It's just her size.

After some swim time and lunch, Colbi enjoyed a nice long nap and woke up to find the party was still going on.

Avery loves Colbi. She always calls her by her full name too. She loves to kiss and hug her. It's awesome. But part of the reason Avery is so good with babies is because she has an excellent big sister herself. Sophia is the baby whisperer.....not kidding.

And, this is pretty much my Dad's life: surrounded by women!
Avery spent ALL day in the pool, so I'm sure she is sleeping pretty well by now. Summer time is so much fun with all these kids around.

I was just talking to everyone about how this time last year I was OVER being pregnant. I simply can not believe it's been almost a year. So much can change in such a short period of time!

11 Months

Colbi,

You are 11 months old! Oh. My. Goodness. This blows Mommy's mind!

You are just a busy body these days! You are on the move all the time. You started pulling up this week and it keeps you busy. You have also mastered the art of crawling and are super duber fast!

You can clap, wave (it's usually to yourself), point, and shrug. We thought you shrugging was just a fluke, but you do it regularly and usually to your Daddy when he trying to feed you. It's pretty hilarious.

You are still on formula but we bought our last container, so after this milk it is! You take a bottle about every 3.5-4hrs. You aren't the best eater. You will eat, but are kind of picky (like your Daddy. Boo!). You like to graze more than eat. Mexican food and spaghetti are two of your favorites but you still LOVE puffs and Cheerios. You also like yogurt (as long as it's not peach). I'm REALLY hoping we can work on you liking more things, but Mommy isn't stressing just yet.

You talk and sing all the time. Some of your words are:
Mama
Dada
Baba
Hi
Uh Oh
Dodo (have NO clue what this means)
Bedtime is around 7:45-8pm and you wake up around 6am.
You wear size 3 diapers and 9-12month clothes.

Sorting stuff and emptying any type of box, container, purse, whatever is your favorite thing to do. There is just something about making a mess that you love. We think it's pretty funny.

For the most part, you are a Mommy's girl. You sure do love your Daddy too, but for sure are Mommy's little partner. You still love daycare and Jenn is one of your favorite people. It's amazing and such a great feeling that you love Jenn.

I can't believe I am starting to plan your first birthday. It has been such an amazing year for us and we have enjoyed watching you grow up. You honestly make us more happy than we ever thought we could be. God has given us such an awesome blessing in you and we thank him daily for you.

We love you so!

Father's Day 2013

Another Father's Day has come and gone!
{I can't believe it's already June...}

Poor Dad is just surrounded by women! :-)

Happy Father's Day to two of the greatest men I know!

I'm so lucky I had such a great Dad and that my daughter has one too!

Date Night

We got an unexpected date night this weekend!

My sister asked if they could watch Colbi for the night after I didn't need her to watch Colbi Saturday morning (so I could work) because Dave's plans fell through. I said of course!

I think it's important for Colbi and Avery to spend time together. Avery LOVES Colbi. And, Jenna and Jason had Sophia and Jordan this weekend, which is always good because Sophia is the BEST entertainment for Colbi. They both are so good with babies since they have another baby sister on their mom's side.

We didn't have close cousins growing up and I think it's fun for them to go each other's house and build a relationship. What fun they will have as they grow up together!

We had a great night and some good quality alone time.

W 7th St. in Fort Worth is awesome! And, every time we go down there it just keeps growing!

We took a little stroll after dinner and saw this couple with a brand new baby. Awe!

The start of our date!

Sometimes you just need a little time alone.

I have a friend who is pregnant and our conversation last week included her telling me she wants to have a date night every week with her husband after the baby comes. I almost laughed, but then remembered I had these great ideas before I had Colbi too. Life just gets busy. So, it's nice when parents or siblings give you a break every now and then. Marriages need it.

We're back to laundry and yard work today. I love normal too!

And, I missed my little lady! :)
