Monday with Mommy

This wasn't on the agenda for Monday, but I had to take a picture and share it.

We have found a new church home and are really excited about it. It's a little bigger than I originally wanted, but we've been attending for about two months now and I know it's where God wants us. Colbi LOVES church, which is awesome because they have an AMAZING (every time I use that word, I think of Kidd Kraddick and how he thought it was totally overused......oh well) children's ministry.

Any who, this is Colbi's "official" first church art project. The "teachers" in Colbi's class are so sweet. Colbi has now graduated to the "see ya later Mom!" when we drop off her, which is nice.

On to our Monday!

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to work on taking one full day out of the week to NOT WORK. Sounds funny. I've been trying to get better about my client scheduling and having actual days that I work and ones I don't. Mondays have become a day that I keep Colbi home with me (for sure) and spend sometime with her!

Yesterday, we ran errands because let's face it, it's too cold to do anything else. We needed some groceries and I had a few other errands to run, but she makes a great shopping buddy! A little goldfish always help to keep her busy in the store.

She was saying hello to the deli lady.

I hate shopping at Wal-Mart, but to be honest, it's convenient sometimes. I needed an oil change, so why not kill two birds with one stone?

We finished out the day with a nap, some laundry, and dinner with the family at Chuy's (yumm-o!) for my sister's birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNA WHITEHEAD!
Hope it's a good day!!!!
(She is 21 plus a few!! )

A little trip to Canton

I LOVE going to Canton. And, for anyone who may not have ever heard of it (which is few and far between I'm sure), it's this huge "flea" market (I use that word loosely, because while they do have junk, mostly everything is nice) Canton, TX holds the first Monday of every month. As a child, I wasn't into it AT ALL. I understand why kids aren't stoked about going to Canton and shop all day, but as an adult, I don't want them there anyway with me! HA!

Colbi did go with me this time and she did pretty well surprisingly.

Are we excited or what?!

It's a little over an hour from us, so the ride wasn't horrible. It was a girl's trip with Mom, Jenna, and Avery.

"You're gonna hear me ROAR." Yes. We were listening to Kids Pop Radio.

After a few hours of shopping, she fell asleep 10 minutes before we left. Go figure!
Your typical ride home with Gigi. The girls love her. She's super entertainment.

And, back home. Isn't this picture awesome?!

Next time, we will be leaving the kiddos at home but everyone needs to experience the greatness that is Canton. I'm sure they'll grow to love it! :-)

18 Months

Colbi Morgan,

You are 18 months old. Mommy can not believe she is typing that! My goodness, time has flown by.

You are the sweetest, funniest, cutest little girl I know. This is probably my most favorite age so far. You are talking up a storm (sometimes, in your own language) and growing like a weed. Some of your favorite words are:

Mommy
Daddy
No
Poo poo
Buddy
Ilk (milk)
Melmo (Elmo)
mon (aka c'mon-when you want us to follow you)
bye bye
Gigi/Pops
Ooma

Pushing anything around the house is your favorite pass time. The strollers and shopping carts you got from Christmas are definitely getting their use. You're obsessed with cellphones and tablets, although we (Mommy and Daddy) don't let you play with ours.

You eat pretty much anything we give you, which is awesome. It's seriously one of the best things since your daddy is super picky. I can't think of really anything you haven't had. You aren't much for juice though, just milk and water. Mexican food is probably your favorite thing to eat, along with spaghetti.

You go to bed between 7:30-8pm and wake up around 7:30am. We still rock with you, not every night, but most nights you like to snuggle before bed.

You are such an easy going, happy little girl and Mommy loves to hang out with you. Daddy loves you so much and you guys share a special bond. Daddy loves to play with you and you think he hung the moon, so that's pretty awesome too.

We are so thankful for God bringing you into our lives. You bring us so much happiness and joy, we couldn't imagine our lives without you in it!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

We started a new in home sitter this week, lets pray that goes well too.
I sure do miss our old sitter, but the drive was already so much better.
I think she will really like her new lady, plus there are boys there.

Cousins & the crud

Avery came to stay with us this past weekend and these girls were busy, busy playing!!

I'm really glad they are close in age and like to play together.

They are both obsessed with pushing things. It's a good thing Colbi has so many different carts to play with.

Colbi has also become really good at playing with "babies". She kisses on them and hugs them. It's so sweet.

Colbi started running fever Tuesday night and has had a rough few days. Tuesday her fever reached 103.4 and, needless to say, I was a little freaked out! We debated on taking her to Cook's (it was about 6:30pm), but after talking with our pedi, we opted to wait it out. After a cool rag, warm bath, and some Tylenol it came down. That night was not fun though.

I'm so thankful for parents that live close and can come help so we can work. She's still running fever today, but I'm hoping it will be gone by tomorrow. She's been sleeping some and sweaty, so wishful thinking!
Colbi has been super clingy today, which isn't such a bad thing for me. But, I'm ready for this virus to go away!

Happy Birthday Gigi!

My mom celebrated a big birthday today!

We had a nice girl's day to help her celebrate.

Red Velvet Cheesecake and Tiramisu Cheesecake
We went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, one of her favorite places, and then to have coffee (out of REAL MUGS, not to-go cups!) afterward at La Madeline. We love that place!

It was a very nice afternoon filled with girl talk and laughter!

But, this little cutie wanted to make sure and say....
"Happy birthday Gigi!"

We hope your "big" birthday was nice and you enjoyed it! We love you so very much!!!

Love,
 Dave, Brooke, & Colbi
