So Friday afternoon we started our journey towards Broken Bow, OK. And what a journey it was........
Doesn't Dave look just super happy to be heading off for our little trip? (Insert sarcasm) This was before we got 2 hours into our drive and had a blow out. Yep. We ended up in Dangerfield, TX pulled over in the Lowe's parking lot trying to get the jack out of the car so we (Dave) could change the tire. Did I mention this happened right before 8pm? Thank goodness Tracker Supply Company was still open (they closed at 8pm). It was a pretty funny scene though. Leslie and I ended up sitting in the boat of Lowe's parking lot while Brian and Dave went to get a tire. One car even drove by asking "Hey, where's the water?" Seriously.
So Leslie's boyfriend Brian is a real live chef. I mean, that boy can cook! Saturday night this was our dinner. Pork Tenderloin stuffed with apples and sage. It was SO yummy. Notice all the white and yellow side items? We have my lovely I don't eat any vegetables besides potatoes and corn husband to thank for that.

I'm not blessed with great just out-of-the lake hair.
Is he a hottie or what?!
Although, all four of us decided that next year we would be floating the river. Why you ask?
Guess what happened on our way home? We had another blowout!!! Thank the Lord my husband was smart enough the first time around to buy a spare tire. We were literally in the middle of no where. Poor Dave and Brian probably lost about 10 pounds standing outside changing, yet again, another flat tire in the 100 degree weather.
So, any suggestions for some great places to stay close to the river would be greatly appreciated! :)
All in all though, a fun and relaxing few days away. Dave and Brian got to fish, Leslie and I had some hot tub time, and Buddy and Baxter got to swim in the lake! Quite a funny sight. Buddy didn't know what to do. We had to leave C'Mere at home, he loves the water a little too much. We might not have been able to get him out of the lake. :)
I hate that this picture turned out so foggy. Oh well. Our cabin was super cute and in a great area right by the lake.

Girl, that sucks! Two blow outs. I'm glad you guys had a fun weekend other than that ;)
Sorry about the blow outs! Good suggestion for the River is Hideout on the Horseshoe...it was AWESOME. You can walk to where you rent tubes or they will shuttle you for $5 and you can walk to the Ampitheatre if there are any concerts going on at the same time. You actually float right past the cabins, and there is a place where you can get in the river on the property. It was pretty fun!
